Time for a Christmas throwback, to the magical and historically city of Edinburgh. Last December, Mum and I took a little Christmas trip to the Scottish city to see what all the fuss was about over their Christmas Market.

It may have taken me a year to put together, but Edinburgh really is a must at Christmas time. From the charm of the Old Town, the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, and of course the lights (and the mulled drinks) of the Christmas Market in Princes St Gardens, Edinburgh just oozes Christmas.

Of course, if you have Christmas shopping to do, then the city centre is full of your high street favourites, and independent stores, to help you tick a few people off of your ‘I need to buy for’ list. With an array of places to eat, or get a drink, 48 hours in Edinburgh can be the perfect Christmas break. I’m always a fan of independent cafes and restaurants, and Edinburgh certainly offers that, alongside your usual chains.

Have you ever been to Edinburgh at Christmas time?
